Ken Goodrich
From a young age, I was underestimated. My teacher doubted my ability to construct a generator by myself, but his skepticism only fueled my determination. Growing up, I apprenticed under my father, the town's renowned fixer. His expertise spanned a wide range of mechanical equipment, from refrigerators to air conditioners and even generators. Through him, I learned not only the mechanics of these devices but also came to appreciate our work as a form of art.
These early lessons in hard work, reliability, innovation, and entrepreneurship formed the foundation of my professional ethos. As I ventured into the business world, these values guided me in building successful home service companies nationwide. It was only recently that I entered the generator sector—a field my father and I shared a passion for. Today, I am proud to continue his legacy and I am confident he would be proud of the strides we've made.

The Story
In the heart of Las Vegas, a city that constantly reinvents itself, Ken Goodrich grew up in the glow of his father, Duncan Goodrich’s workshop. Attached to their family home, this workshop was where Duncan, a master of repair, could fix almost anything. From a very young age, Ken was by his side, absorbing the rhythms of problem-solving and the values of hard work.
Ken wasn’t just learning to fix; he was learning to innovate. Eager to forge his own path, he repurposed an old 1954 Airstream trailer into his personal workshop, outfitting it with tools, parts, and old casino carpets to keep the dust at bay. It became his haven for tinkering, nestled in the vast backyard filled with the remnants and riches of a city known for both its fortunes and failures.
The young inventor's defining moment came during a school science fair. With mesquite wood for power poles, copper wires, and sheer determination, Ken built a generator that, when cranked, lit up a tiny porch light—a beacon of his budding engineering prowess. However, his achievement was met with skepticism, not applause. His teacher, Mr. Cutler, unfairly dismissed his hard work, accusing him of riding on his father’s coattails and marking his project with a failing grade.
Fuelled by this injustice, Ken made a vow. He would not only prove Mr. Cutler wrong but also surpass all expectations. “You just wait,” he promised, “Someday everybody will call me the Kenerator!”
Ken’s resolve turned into a mission. By sixteen, he was already making repair calls on his own, applying the lessons learned from his father. His commitment to excellence was unwavering, rooted in the belief that every installation, every repair, was a testament to his integrity and a tribute to his father’s teachings.
Ken’s entrepreneurial spirit eventually led him to expand beyond Las Vegas, growing prestigious home service brands across the nation such as Goettl, YES, and ARS. Yet, despite his success in plumbing and air conditioning, Ken’s heart remained with generators—the very symbol of his early defiance and dreams.
Today, Ken has turned his lifelong passion into reality by acquiring two leading generator companies in Texas. With this move, he aims to bolster the state’s resilience against storms and power grid failures, protecting communities as his father taught him—by solving problems and ensuring reliability.
Now at the helm of Kenerator, named playfully after his childhood nickname, Ken’s legacy is not just in the services his companies provide but in the countless homes and hearts he lights up along the way.
Kaboom, Mr. Cutler!
